2010 Topps WWE Platinum Preview

I was checking out Blowout Cards site today looking for a box of the upcoming 2010 Topps Update baseball and I stumbled across a pre-order of another 2010 Topps WWE set.  I have to say this news slipped past me as I had no idea another set would be released.  To see a high-end set for wrestling is odd (at least to me), but very welcomed.  It's always nice to bust something non-baseball or football from time to time.

The base design and the loads of inserts look like it'll be a fun product to open and collect.  Because of the higher price point I'm not sure if I'll be splurging for a hobby box or not, but I will want to build this set that I know.

It's a shame Topps is still using the stickers for the autographed cards, but the rest of the card design is much better than what Topps used in their base set.

It appears that each hobby box will yield:

- 1 autographed relic card
- 1 autographed card
- 1 relic card
- 12 insert cards
- 4 serially numbered cards

The base set consists of 125 cards with the backs written by RAW's announcer Michael Cole.  It will feature a mixture of current talent, divas as well as hall of famers.  Exclusive to hobby product are 1/1 red parallels and printing plates.

Autographed relic cards have a pretty good checklist in my opinion:  John Cena, The Big Show, Edge, The Miz, Kofi Kingston, Christian, Evan Bourne, CM Punk, MVP, R-Truth, and Sheamus

Autographed cards have a slightly larger checklist:  Kane, David Otunga, Chris Jericho, Kelly Kelly, Drew McIntyre, Alicia Fox, Maryse, Wade Barrett, and Caylan Croft

The product has a late December 2010 release date and can be pre-ordered now!  So, who's ordering?

  1. That's a great looking set. Can't believe there's no HHH auto though, that's a let down.
It would be cool if they had some cut signatures too, like Andre the Giant, Owen Hart or British Bulldog.
I'd most definitely order if Blowout shipped overseas but they dont so I'll try and pick up some singles.
