Omar Infante Traded!

While cleaning the kitchen tonight I quickly grabbed the remote and flipped the channel from TLC since my wife wasn't around over to ESPN only to see a report that super utility man Omar Infante has been traded!

The Braves agreed to send Omar along w/ pitcher Mike Dunn to the Florida Marlins in exchange for second baseman Dan Uggla.  I'm not sure what to think of the deal.  I missed some of the news, but I thought I heard that Uggla will be a free agent after the 2011 season so there are no guarantees the Braves will have him more than one season.

I'm guessing the Braves decided to pull the trigger on the deal since Omar's stock went up after his fantastic 2010 season.  If Chipper doesn't rebound from his injury Martin Prado will take over third base most likely leaving second base open for Uggla full time.  I was already looking forward to next season and this move only makes me more impatient to see what the Braves can accomplish.  I'm sure most Braves fan will agree that Omar will be missed.
