As of today it's official, the NBA's Charlotte Hornets are back!

Baseball will always be my first and true love, but growing up in Charlotte, NC as a kid one couldn't help but embrace the "buzz" in the late 80's and throughout the 90's.  The arena affectionately nicknamed the Hive was on fire back in the day.  We had the likes of Larry Johnson, Alonzo Mourning, Muggsy Bogues, Kendall Gill, Rex Chapman, Baron Davis, Bobby Phills and more.  Then the owner upped and moved them to New Orleans. Boo.  Well today at 12:30 PM EST the press conference will make it official.  The Hornets are back where they belong!  Welcome back Hornets, you've been missed.

  1. I'll never comprehend why we in NOLA got that team in the first place, and moreover why they stuck with that name that has nothing to do with this city.

Congrats on having your team back!

  3. The only thing I hate is driving down tyvola seeing the forest of overgrown grass where the old "new" coliseum was. It was such a nice place even nicer than time warner.

    1. I didn't care for the "cable box" arena at first, but now that I've been to several events there it's really grown on me. Granted I loved the old "new" coliseum and miss it, but I dig the uptown experience.
