I believe during this time Fleer/Skybox had a licensing deal w/ Marvel Comics.  I forgot about these cards, but I do have one in my own collection (Cal Ripken Jr. & Iron Man).  I'm a huge Marvel Comics fan so I like these cards, though I can see how non-comic fans could care less.  I really oughta search out the rest of these cards and build this set.

Group Break Begins! 1998 Skybox Dugout Axess

1998 Skybox Dugout Axess is comprised of a 150 card base set.  Of the 150 cards there are 90 Insiders, 30 Little Dawgs, 12 7th Inning Sketch 8 Name Plates and 10 Trivia cards.

On the insert front there is a parallel set serially numbered to 50 along with 4 other insert sets.  Double Header are some sort of playing cards and come 2 per pack.  10 Frequent Flyers (1:4), 10 Dishwashers (1:8) and 10 Super Heroes (1:20).

Right off the bat you can see that the collation isn't the best here as we got several consecutive numbered cards.  I should also mention these are some of the thinnest cards I've seen in quite sometime.  The Double Header cards have rounded corners and feel like playing cards.  The backs give you instructions on how to play the game.

2 hits in the same pack!  Too bad one of them was Barry Bonds.  I'm sure we'll get more of the Frequent Flyer cards so I'll save the scan for a better player.  I've also got the say the Dishwashers insert set is very odd.  I don't get the concept, but the foil design isn't that bad despite the odd name.  A Brave to boot as well!
