Nachos Grande 2018 Topps Heritage Group Break Results

Chris from Nachos Grande has thrown his hat recently into the ring of hosting group breaks. I grabbed the Braves in his recent 2018 Heritage break. I don't usually buy much if any of Heritage, so I figured this would be a good way to get the Braves cards I wanted without having a lot of cards I didn't want.

I feel as if I did pretty good, getting multiples of every non-SP Brave in the set. I did manage to get one SP, Nick Markakis.

The Detroit Tigers ended up being my second team that was randomized to me. I only got 3 cards, but it appears all 3 are SPs. I'm keeping the McCann for my Faith Brothers collection, but the other two will be available for trade.

While Chris was waiting to break the actual boxes of Heritage, he opened a few bonus packs. Nothing too exciting, but I love the junk wax era and even though I may already have these older Braves cards in my collection I'll still gladly take them.

Thanks Chris for hosting the break and getting the cards out to me so quickly!

Awesome A&G Trade w/ Nachos Grande

Hello, my name is Colbey and I have a confession...I have a lot of hobbies.

Most of these hobbies don't always cross over into my other hobbies, but this is one time where toys I collected yielded baseball cards.

Many know of the great guy behind the Nachos Grande blog and his love of all things Allen & Ginter. Another passion of his is LEGO. He's been trying to complete the various blind packaged Minifigure Collections and recently I was able to help supply him with several figures from his want list. In turn he graciously went through my A&G want lists and sent me a nice selection of cards.

I didn't know what he was sending over. I really didn't care. I was just glad to get the Minifigures into the hands of someone who will appreciate them. I've been downsizing (yet again) my toy collection and most of the figures I sent off I had no intentions of keeping. In exchange I was able to put a huge dent into both my 2016 and 2017 A&G want lists.

Thank you so much for the trade! I wasn't able to afford a hobby box of Ginter this year so I really appreciate all of the 2017 cards. This puts me ever so closer to finishing off at least the base set for these two years.

These Nachos Grande are so good! (and so are his trades)

Every now and then I come across some things that the crazy Reds fan that runs NaA lotchos Grande doesn't have and we are able to strike up a trade. My latest deal with him consisted of sending him some Reds cards along with some Lego mini figures from the latest series. In return he helped me out with my 2016 Topps want list of both base cards and some of these awesome Perspective inserts.

A lot of the inserts from the flagship Topps set have really been lacking in originality the last few years in my opinion, but these Perspective cards are beautifully done. The sharp photography and full bleed design makes me think this is something from Stadium Club (minus the regular thickness card stock) and is a set I'm eager to finish.

I also got a few more inserts from this years Topps set including Berger's Best (not sure why I'm actively working on this set since this has been done before), Pressed into Service, the Wrigley Field set and the last Wacky Packages sticker I needed to finish the preview set.

These custom Allen & Ginter mini cards were a complete surprise! Personally I love the Freddie Freeman and the autograph card of his truly, Chris was a nice touch too. I'll have to find a place for these in one of my A&G binders. Thanks for such a great swap!

Nachoes Grande Group Break Results

The holidays were great, but it set me back in some of my blog posts.  I received my group break cards from Nachoes Grande a few weeks ago and I wanted to share the results.  The box of cards that had me hooked was the inclusion of 2011 Topps Tier One.  With the young talent the Braves have on their roster I had to take a chance.  I also ended up w/ the White Sox as my randomized 2nd team.

Chris does a good job keeping a running tally for each team.  However with each pack that was opened I grew more and more discouraged.  It was starting to look like I was going to be completely shut out in the Tier One box until towards the very end I got not only 1 hit, but 2!

Just look at that interesting looking signature!  Sure Jordan isn't a Brave anymore (he was sent to Houston when Michael Bourne came over), but it's still a sweet pick up for my Braves collection.  I didn't get any base cards of the Braves which was a bummer, but I don't feel so bad as Chris' Reds were shut out completely.

The White Sox supplied my 2nd hit.  I think this is the first time my 2nd team has ever gotten anything like this.  I don't know who this guy is so the card is available if anyone is interested.

The rest of the cards from the break were 2011 Topps A&G - some of which I actually needed for my set.  Most of you know what those look like by now so I didn't bother to scan them.  Thanks Chris for another great break!

A Cheesy Trade

Photobucket

I sent Chris @ Nachos Grande a few 2011 Topps Allen & Ginter relics he needed and he sent me two 2010 Topps Allen & Ginter relics I wanted.  See how easy that was?  Oh yeah, I got this nifty sticker you see above to.  How cool is that?!

I love the blue swatch on Wright's card...it makes the Hamilton card look boring.
