August 2012 Affordable Group Break - 1996 Stadium Club Series 2

Whew!  This TSC break ended up being A LOT of work!  Sorry for the delay guys, but I'm back to reveal the contents of the 10th and final box - Series 2 of 1996 Stadium Club.  The inserts this time around were all seeded 1:48 packs with the exception of the Mantle Retrospective (1:12).  Possible inserts include Metalist, Power Packed, Bash N' Burn & TSC Awards.

Love that trio of catchers and check out the dirt coming off Buhner's bat!
Another Gwynn and Salmon!

I kinda like these Team TSC short prints...then again it's easy for me to say that since I got three Braves!

The Extreme Players game cards (or whatever they're called) are included again.  We'll start off w/ 2 Bronze cards of unclaimed teams.  Both will be randomed off.

What were the chances that another one of these would be of an unclaimed team?!  Zeile here will go to a team w/o an insert.

The Mickey Mantle Retrospective cards were seeded 1:12 in Series 2 so these weren't really unexpected pulls.

With the increased odds I wasn't sure if there would be anymore inserts to be found...but then I saw this nice shiny card starting back at me!

TSC Awards (1:48) of Tom Glavine...Best Performance in the 1995 World Series.  Love it!

Updated card count through all 10 boxes (assuming my math is correct!):

BASE CARD - PARALLEL - INSERT

NL
Braves - 136 - 4 - 1
Mets - 98 - 3 - 2
Dodgers - 93 - 5 - 3
Reds - 92 - 5 -1
Giants - 90 - 6 - 4
Phillies - 87 - 2 - 4
Expos - 96 - 5 -1
Brewers - 103 - 5 - 2
Cardinals - 87 - 3 -1
Astros - 99 - 5 - 1
Pirates - 78 - 4 -1
Padres - 109 - 2 - 1

AL
Yankees - 108 - 4 - 7
Mariners - 93 - 6 - 2
Indians - 93 - 7 - 1
Rangers - 118 - 3 - 1
Royals - 112 - 5 - 1
White Sox - 111 - 1 - 7
Angels - 82 - 3 - 3
Blue Jays - 91 - 4 - 1

And with that count that wraps up the biggest Affordable Group Break I've ever hosted.  I hope everyone enjoyed participating.  Even though it was a lot of work and took longer to complete than I originally planned I may do something like this again...but not any time soon!  I need a break!  However before I take a much needed break from things I have one other little thing on the horizon...3 boxes of 2012 Topps Chrome!  For those of you that signed up for that we'll get that rolling soon.  Those boxes will be busted on YouTube most likely.  All the cards will be boxed up and in the mail starting Tuesday, 09/04/12.  Thanks again everyone!

August 2012 Affordable Group Break - 1996 Stadium Club Series 1

We've finally reached the last year of this massive Stadium Club break with the first of two 1996 boxes.  Of note here each pack contains a double foil stamped Team TSC card that is essentially an SP.  These will not be counted as an insert and part of the base card count.  Extreme Players was some sort of contest where if you pulled an EP card it could be mailed in to Topps as a contest entry of some sorts.  These Extreme Players cards came in 3 varieties:  Bronze (1:12), Silver (1:24) and Gold (1:48).  Even though these cards are essentially parallels, they'll be counted as inserts.

Other inserts include Power Streak (1:24), Prime Cuts (1:36), Midsummer Matchup (1:48), Mega Heroes (1:48), and Mickey Mantle Retrospective (1:24).

Extreme Players - I was surprised to see that we got one of each level in the same box!

Topps made good use of their Mickey Mantle deal in the mid 90's.

It's not Tim Salmon, but I'm thinking Angels, In Order will be happy w/ this Jim Edmonds.

This was a fun box to open.  Most of the teams got a good amount of cards and the inserts were a nice touch - even though we didn't get some of the higher odds inserts.  One more box to go before this break is in the books.

Updated card count through 9 boxes:

August 2012 Affordable Group Break - 10 TOTAL BOXES!

I've been preparing for this break for quite some time now and I couldn't have pulled it off without the help of my two sponsors:

I actually got my inspiration to do this themed break from Community Gum.  I had kicked around the idea of some of this product before, but never to this magnitude.  I shot off an e-mail to the guys @ CG and they generously offered to help sponsor the break by donating two boxes of 1993 cards.  I didn't want to settle w/ just 2 boxes so I hit up Steve from the Baseball Card Exchange and got a great deal on 8 more boxes!  If you're adept at math that makes a total of 10 boxes!!

I know I may be crazy and biting off more than I can chew, but I'm ready.  I personally think this will be a lot of fun.  Yes, it'll be a lot of work for me, but in the end I hope everyone will get something that will make them happy.

I mentioned this is a themed break.  What's the theme?  (Don't cheat and scroll down yet)  STADIUM CLUB!  I have always been a fan of the TSC sets and this ought to give us a nice sample size as we tour the TSC years of 1993-1996.  OK, now you can scroll down to see the boxes chosen.

I personally am excited about the 1995 boxes.  The inserts that year were especially nice (Power Zone & Ring Leaders) and there are (expired) Phone cards to chase!  Remember when those were all the rage?  If you're looking for autos and relics then you won't find much here for your tastes.  However if you're looking for a lot of cards w/ great photography and a slew of parallels and inserts then this break will be right up your ally.  And since you now this is one of my Affordable Group Breaks then you'll know it won't break the bank.

Because I've never attempted this many boxes before in one single break I'm opening it up to all 28 teams.  The Braves will be claimed by myself.  The rest of the teams will be up for grabs.  In order to make this a reality I'm looking for at least 20 teams to be claimed.  I didn't want to make it where all the remaining teams needed to be claimed in order to make this work.

Each one team slot will cost $12 shipped.  I'm estimating packaging materials and shipping to come in around $5 per team just to let you know.  Because of the number of cards each team should be getting there will be no multiple team discounts...sorry.

If my math is correct there should be a grand total of 2,832 cards in these boxes!  There should be plenty of cards to go around for everyone.

The faster everyone pays the sooner I can place the order and get to ripping packs.  If for some reason we can't get at least 20 people to join in on the fun then I'll refund everyone's money.

To claim a slot(s) please:
