Sunday Verse

Ephesians 5:19-20

speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I wanted to bold and underline the 'always giving thanks to God the Father for everything'.  I'll also add that we should always give thanks even when things aren't going our way.  It's easy to praise Him with the skies are sunny and we are "fat and happy", but the times we really need to lift His name up is on those dark and gloomy days or when you're just having an overall bad day.  It's amazing how petty we can be and how we act sometimes.  It's on those bad days I'm reminded to continue to praise God no matter what.  The ska bad The O.C. Supertones summed up all of this perfectly in their song "Jury Duty"...

5 am on tuesday
Why am I up so early

Every time I read this verse this song by Guardian always pops into my head.  Have a great day everyone!

Happy Rockin' Easter!

The song is called "I Just Know" by Disciple.  I haven't heard this song in a l-o-n-g time until the other day when I popped in a compilation CD on the way home from work.  I had already been thinking of an appropriate post for Easter and then this song came on and I thought it was perfect.  Just listen to the lyrics - plain and simple and it sums up things quite well...in a rockin' sort of way!

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

I ran across this awesome song by the David Crowder Band that sums up the verse perfectly.  And the video ain't half bad either.  Makes me wish I still had my Lite Bright!

Sunday Verse - Music Video Edition "Jesus Is For Losers"

While working on my blog this evening I pulled up Media Player and hit random.  A few songs in Steve Taylor's "Jesus is for Losers" from the awesome Squint album came up.  I remember when this song first was released and some of the controversy it caused.  Take a moment to watch the video (which from a productional stand point is very good) and listen to the lyrics.  Steve Taylor is a great song writer and this song is no exception.  If you want a copy of the lyrics I'm sure a Google search would bring them up.

Good Friday

I wanted to post something for Good Friday earlier today, but I just wasn't able to for several different reasons.  This Easter weekend means a lot to me and I can't not share just a little bit.  Below is a clip from the movie "The Passion of the Christ".  The clip shows Jesus taking a nasty beating before Pontius Pilate before being taken to Golgotha to be crucified.  I will warn you the video is graphic in parts, but I do encourage you to watch it.  For me it's amazing to see just what Jesus went through.  The pain he suffered.  All for me and you.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today's post will be short as today I'll be spending my time w/ my wife and daughter once I get off work.  Honey, if you're reading this I hope you'll be hungry as I'm bringing home dinner as well as a special dessert treat for you.

I should also mention since this is a trading card blog that my wife was gracious enough to stuff 2 packs of 2011 Topps and a pack of 2010 Topps Magic football into my Valentine's day card that she gave to me this morning. Thanks babe!
