Sunday Verse + State of the Blog

**UPDATE**
We got some really goods news today regarding my wife's unemployment benefits as they've been extended a few months.  This will help out my family in so many ways.  We're not out of the woods yet, but God is so good!

Psalm 62:7
"In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God."

The one sure thing in this world is that nothing is secure.  My wife has been out of work now for a year and half and her former profession (elementary education) just seems to be crumbling apart nationwide.  Look at the foundation that our country is built upon and take a look at what is happening in and around the community.  There is just so much uncertainty in the world today that I don't know how I would function without knowing the foundation that I have built my trust on.

It's comforting to know that I'm standing on solid ground and that I always have a shelter when metaphorically speaking the storms come.

I would like to thank several of you out there that have shared your comments and prayers with me and for my family.  We hit a bump in the road so to speak this week when we found out that my wife's unemployment has already ran out.  We thought this would carry at least until June so to know we don't have this income to help pay various bills is a little unnerving to say the least.

I mention this since will have some sort of impact on my blog.  You won't be seeing me post new pack or box breaks as I'll have to swear off spending for the time being on anything not deemed as a necessity.  I still hope to be able to do some simple trading so keep those e-mails and trade offers coming.  I should be able to hold affordable group breaks in the coming months so if that is one of the reasons you drop by here then you'll still be able to do so.  I have a new job offer on the table and it appears my wife may be returning to teaching (on-line) soon so we are hoping things wll start to turn around, but for the immediate things are going to be a little tough.  I'm hanging on though.  I've got the new baseball season just around the corner to look forward to and I still have plenty of things to blog about on both here and on my other blog, Random Toy Reviews.

  1. Best of luck to you and your family. I'm going into elementary education right now and I agree - things are not going so well in the schools. Here's to things getting better!

  2. Hang in there Colbey, I know your faith (and mine) will get you through this tough time for sure. I also know your blog will still be awesome as you don't need new product to continue your steller posts. Rock on!

  3. It's great to see you lay your faith out there. I think it's just a matter of time before that gets rewarded. Best to you and your wife.

  4. Best of luck to you and your wife. It continually amazes me how little gratitude is shown toward school teachers despite the integral part they play in our society.
